Summer Sundays @ The Brunner House

The Brunner House is a newly restored historic farmhouse at 640 Main St. in Broomfield. Each Sunday from 12-4p the Brunner House will be open to the public for tours, and arts related activities. Grab your stein, throw on your lederhosen and get ready for Denver’s 38th annual Oktoberfest! The event, which is one of the city’s longest running festivals and one of the largest of its kind in the nation will move from its previous home on Larimer Square to Denver’s Ballpark Neighborhood. Modeled after Oktoberfest in Munich Germany, Oktoberfest on Larimer Street commemorates this world-famous and time-honored tradition of German heritage. The festival has truly become a Denver mainstay offering German attractions, music from national touring groups, performances by international dancers, children’s activities, heritage booths selling German good, splendid décor, and accordion concert, and authentic cuisine. Admission to the event is FREE and guests may purchase tickets for food, bier and children’s activities.

MJO Presents Wayne Bergeron!!

Wayne Bergeron will be coming to Denver to perform (and clinic) with MJO!! Maynard Ferguson once said of Wayne that he "is the most musical lead trumpet player I've ever had on my band."  This will be a night to remember! Littleton Jazz Festival

The Littleton Jazz Foundation is presenting its third annual concert, featuring four “Mainstream” jazz ensembles from the Denver area. The groups range from a quartet to an 18-piece big band, all playing jazz standards as well as original compositions. The concert runs from 6:00 to 10:00.

MJO Presents Daniel Barry

 MJO will feature Daniel directing the band (and playing trumpet too!) in an evening of all Daniel's great music. Come hear many flavors of the musical world which reflect Daniel's diverse background. Call Dazzle (303-839-5100) for reservations!

Daniel Barry is a composer, arranger, conductor, music educator, publisher and trumpet player currently living in Seattle. Although Daniel's work as a composer falls primarily into the jaz...z category, his music contains elements garnered from advanced classical music studies along with residencies and festival performances throughout the world, in particular the Caribbean, Central America, Peru, Brazil and Southeast Asia.

Recently he has served as guest Composer/Performer in Residence for the Banda Amazonas in Manaus, Brazil, the Conservatoire de Tatui in Sao Paulo Brazil, and as a featured composer at the 2007 Lima Jazz Festival in Peru.

MJO open the evening in the beautiful outdoor Amphitheater at 6p.

The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra opens the evening with big band jazz as well as rock, Latin, swing and contemporary selections. Our two exciting vocalists cover Sinatra to Buble and Ella to Ima. The MJO, Denver's premier 18-pc big band is polished and powerful with an exciting and varied repertoire with something for every musical taste! Don't miss this exciting big band!
